Skull surgery needed for Hiba, aged 3

Born in Tunisia at the end of 2020, Hiba had to return quickly to the hospital because of weight loss. Indeed, when she was 4 months old, she was diagnosed with a heart disease – a coarctation of the aorta – which led her to undergo an operation at the University Hospital Sahloul in Sousse. The surgery went well and without complications for the baby.

But soon after she recovered from the heart, the family was told that she needed skull surgery. Hiba has craniosynostosis, a skull deformation in which the bones in a baby’s skull join together too early. Now her skull can’t grow normally and so does her brain, which can be dangerous. And she can also suffer from consequences on the face.

Seed wants to call its donors to support Hiba’ surgery and admission costs at Lyon University Hospital, neurosurgery pediatrics department.

Total budget: 15 343 €
