More details about this project

200 hygiene kits for young girls

In and out of the cities, menstruated young girls deserve dignity. With this project, Seed wants to provide hygiene kits to Ivorian teenagers (aged 14-17) including sanitary pads but also intimate hygiene gel, soap, etc.

Since we also wish to support local production and women’s empowerment, seamstress trainees will craft washable sanitary pads thanks to the sewing machines we’ll provide as well. To put it in a nutshell, we want to:

  • – fight period poverty especially in the countryside
  • – support women’s education and empowerment in Ivory Coast
  • – support local and eco-friendly activities.

This project includes:

  • – purchase of 10 sewing machines and washing powder to craft and wash the reusable menstrual pads
  • – purchase of products to prepare the hygiene kits: 2 sanitary pads, soap, brush, toothpaste, cotton buds, intimate hygiene gel, mini deodorant, eau de Cologne or perfume

Total budget: 5 000 €
