Sponsor 15 Kyrgyz women to learn sewing
What do snow leopards and women have in common?
Threatened species because of climate change and poaching, the felines live alone in the most inaccessible mountain ranges of Central Asia. In these high mountain regions, women struggle to have access to education and employment. They need to be encouraged to protect the ecosystem and develop beneficial economic activities.
That is the reason why Seed wants to support for the first time a project in Kyrgyzstan, east of China, more precisely in the district of Suusamyr, less than 10,000 inhabitants and 150 km far from the capital, Bishkek.
60% of the working-age women there are currently unemployed but motivated: they want to set up a sewing workshop to sew clothes for their families, but also to fulfill business orders from companies in the capital. The local council has agreed to make a room available and Seed’s donors can support them by providing :
– 10 sewing machines and one serger
– 1 table
– 3 irons
– various supplies essential for the set-up and initial operation of the workshop, from ironing boards to cutting scissors, ribbon, fabric, thread, etc.
Total budget: €14,269
📢 Reminder: Seed is a unique international non-profit with NO management fees from your donation
€1 raised = €1 to support the project, and only the project
