1 year financial support for an orphanage!

Burundi, located south Rwanda, is not only one of the poorest countries in the world but it keeps growing poor with a 74,7% poverty rate in 2018 according to the World Bank, higher than 2006 (67%). More than half of the children suffer there from severe malnutrition, says Unicef.

Seed wants to take action and support the most vulnerable by funding an orphanage’s operating costs which only gets help from the neighborhood. Located in Kinama, almost 30km away from Bujumbura, the economic capital, it is the home for 72 fatherless and motherless children from all ages. Some of them suffer from disabilities. 

This project includes 1 year financial support: 

• – supply of provisions to provide 3 meals a day
• – recruitment of qualified teachers
• – arrangement of sport and cultural activities
• – health and psychological monitoring

Total budget: 40 000€
